The Gorges de L’Aveyron and surrounding countryside is idyllic cycling country. With quiet or almost deserted roads leading to breathtaking views, beautiful medieval villages and excellent local restaurants. The Tour de France regularly passes through our region, and for good reason. We are blessed with some of the best road and gravel routes in France. Although the area is becoming more and more well known for cycle tourism, it is still a relatively well kept secret, meaning quieter roads, lower prices and beautiful unspoilt landscapes. Come and explore!

Why choose a cycling holiday at Le Camp?

A Le Camp cycling holiday combines the best of all worlds, a fantastic location for cycling for all abilities and interests; bring your own or hire from one of our local partners and get to stay at a unique and beautiful destination. We are able to cater for parties of up to 30 people, from couples to families to organised groups.

Experience the great outdoors… All holiday!

Sleep in our of our luxury safari tents, cool down in our spectacular 20 metre natural swimming pool. Cook, BBQ and enjoy local wines in our Summer kitchen and shaded seating area, all the while surrounded by trees, wildlife, our friendly pets and like minded people. Le Camp’s ethos is all around sustainability and we encourage guests to live in harmony with our natural environment, which is not only good for the planet, but good for the soul.

Travel as a large and/or mixed group

Unlike smaller highly specialised tour providers, Le Camp can sleep up to 30 adults or a group of 40 (maximum capacity with a mix of adults and children). Meaning you can either join us as a big group of serious cyclists, or as families with mixed interests and abilities. One parent can go out exploring all day on their bike, while the rest of the family enjoy an unforgettable outdoor holiday at a five star luxury glamping retreat.

Self cater and self guide as you wish

While we are able to arrange caterers and professional cycling guides on request, at Le Camp you have the opportunity to enjoy your cycling holiday your way. We provide the accommodation, facilities, advice, and can arrange bike hire, but you have the freedom to set your own schedules while benefiting from being located in the centre of fantastic cycling countryside. If you have any trouble during your ride we are only a phone call away and can “rescue” you in the Land Rover if needed.

We visited Le Camp for six nights in mid June. As two people in our early 30s we were looking forward to leaving city life behind us and getting back to nature for a week, whilst still having a touch of luxury at hand. We were more than impressed with our stay! We stayed in one of the spacious Safari Tents. The quality of the tent, furniture and bedding was extremely high.

Local bike hire

There are a wide variety of road types in this part of SW France, from perfectly smooth tarmac to gravel and dirt. Our planned routes often use a combination of these and we feel that by taking the road less travelled you will get the most from your cycling holiday. We have access to hire road bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes and electric bikes on your behalf, but advanced notice is required so please get in touch to discuss your needs as early as possible.

Can I bring my own bike?

Of course! Many of our guests arrive with their own bikes. We have plenty of safe storage space and a fully equipped workshop should maintenance or bike assembly be required.

When to visit?

May, June and September are the perfect months for cycling here in South West France. The weather is usually excellent and you can benefit from all the sights and activities in our local area outside of the main tourist season. During July and August, it is still possible to get out on two wheels but prepare for hotter riding conditions and stick to the mornings and evenings.

If you have any questions or are ready to book your adventure, get in touch today. If you book online though our booking widget, please include a note asking us to get in touch to discuss the cycling element of your holiday.
