Activities

We have designed Le Camp to enable you to relax in a beautiful environment and enjoy the simplicity of nature all around you – enjoy a carefree moment watching dragonflies hover across the pond or listen to owls hooting at night.  For those with a little more energy you can swim seriously (we have a 20m swimming channel) or simply wallow in the beach area.  Try out the tree swing, feed the pigs, host a petanque tournament or knock around the badminton court.  For kids we have plenty to do, with toys, trucks, a sand pit and a shallow beach area to paddle and play.

 Nearby there’s plenty to do.

The Tarn et Garonne region is a diverse, richly historic, rural and lushly wooded area.  Fortunately one of France's lesser known tourist destinations, it nevertheless offers a vast array of activities for everyone.  Even in mid-summer, there are still quiet corners to be found, and endless opportunities to experience a slower, more traditional French way of life.  St Antonin Noble-Val, less than a 10 minute drive from Le Camp is a stunning, medieval town with a famous Sunday market - by far and away the best market of the region.  Its situation, within the limestone Gorges de L’Aveyron is breathtaking – and it is highlighted as one of the Rough Guide’s top five “things not to miss”.  It also has many restaurants, shops and even a little cinema.

For outdoor enthusiasts, this region is a Mecca. You can enjoy great road or off road biking or spend a day drifting down the river in a canoe which passes through the impressive Gorges de L’Aveyron.  The cliffs offer great parascending and rock climbing. Many people come to this area for its river fishing, which is outstanding, and the hiking, with a great variety of marked trails and picnic spots nearby.

If French culture is your thing, there are numerous ancient hilltop villages and towns.  This region has a high concentration of “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” - six within easy driving distance.  Cordes Sur Ciel, a stunning, fairytale hilltop city, is only fifteen minutes away, and Albi, our closest cathedral city, with its many boutiques and the world famous Toulouse-Lautrec museum, has been granted World Heritage status from 2010.   If you want more, there are art galleries, museums, open air opera and prehistoric caves.

For foodies – the Tarn et Garonne region is fast becoming the market garden of France and the whole area is becoming dedicated to organic farming.  Nearby there are many fine restaurants, homely bistros, local markets, organic food projects and the famous Gaillic vineyards.

For everyone – fresh air, nature, time for reflection, space, silence.
